What We Do

INCH does not directly carry out activities overseas, instead we fund the activities of our Indian partners. We feel that by working through Indian organisations that are well established on the ground we are able to achieve greater results at lower cost. We have known and worked with our two main partners for 20 years. During that time we have developed excellent working relationships with them. In effect we fund agreed projects, they manage them.

    INCH

  • Raises and allocates funds

  • Ensures 100% of every £1 raised goes directly to India to benefit children

  • Meets regularly to discuss the needs identified by our partners in India, and to make decisions regarding which projects to support

  • Allocates funds according to our criteria

  • Works closely with partner organisations in India, including Trustees making annual (self-funded) field trips to India to monitor projects and maintain our understanding of needs, and to view outcomes.

How we decide which projects to fund

  • Is the child, children or family experiencing extreme poverty?

  • Might the consequence of this poverty have life-long effects (health problems, complete lack of education, modern day slavery)?

  • Is the need within our stated location of West Bengal?

  • Will the funding be effective?

  • Are we able to monitor and measure the outcomes?

  • Thus we are able to determine the most worthwhile outcomes and direct future assistance accordingly.
